Summer Fun

It's been a fun and busy summer. Adam got a summer job in Plummer working for the Coeur d'Alene tribe. He has liked it okay...minus the fact that its an hour commute both ways.

My family was able to come out in June. I liked this twin picture!

We took my family out to Robinson Park for a bbq. It is so pretty out there.

Justin Clifford, from my hometown, got called to this mission and then transfered to Moscow! It was so fun seeing him. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL and had to go home for surgery. I hope he gets to come back to Moscow!

Adam and Evie playing! I sure like those two.

My parents left, but Alona stayed. We took her out to Little Boulder Creek for some hiking.

We let Alona carry Evie to prep her for her Havasupi hike.

April, Katie, and I took our little munchkins to the aquatic center. It was my first time...and I liked it!

The Strawn's had a 4th of July BBQ. We couldn't pass it up! There was some great grillin'.

Evie and Maia playing...(i.e. Evie trying to roll over Maia)!

Evie has upgraded to the bath tub. She likes it and has only pooped in there once!

Alona stopped by again for one last visit. We sure like her!

Adam went fishing so us girls went out to lunch. Good food and good company. Evie was entertaining the other customers with her stares and talking!

She's a sweetheart. Don't worry...I sanitized the table!

The day Alona headed out we had smoothies and blueberry muffins for breakfast. Our downstairs neighbors always have the smell of blueberry muffins coming from their apartment and we were smelling it all weekend. It made me want some real bad!

We were sad to see Alona have to go, but we'll get to see her soon. This summer has gone by fast. I'm sad that it's almost over, but glad that this will be Adam's last semester!!

Evie Eating...

After we got back from Lake Powell I thought I'd start giving Evie some baby food. She loved the rice cereal, so I thought she'd love this too. Well, I was wrong...

I made the mistake of trying mixed veggies first. I've learned my lesson.

Poor thing, I kinda feel bad for her. It was pretty funny though.

She got pretty mad at me. She just started staring out the window. She refused to eat anything else for a couple of weeks.

Here is the torture...

Trying rice cereal to get the bad taste out. It didn't work.

Here we are on another occasion. She was doing much better!

She later made up for me torturing her by kicking the baby food out of my hand and getting it everywhere. It was pretty funny!

It even got all over the wall under the table. Oh the fun!

She is doing so much better eating these days. She even seems to prefer the veggies over fruits!

Lake Powell

I know this post is really late in coming, but better late than never, right?! About a month and a half ago we went to Lake Powell with all of the Warr's. It was a great trip. I will spare you the hundred of pictures that we took. The pictures are not in order...not that anyone really cares! Here are some of the highlights.

On Sunday we went to church in Page and then looks around Glen Canyon Dam. It is pretty impressive. We got picked up in the boat and then headed to the house boat.

The moon was incredible. Almost every night, the sun would set and a huge beautiful moon would rise. It was my favorite time of the day!

Evie was a big hit on the boat (of course). One of the favorite games was "spin Evie on the lazy susan". Actually, the game was spin whoever wants to on the lazy susan. There is a little video at the very bottom (I don't know why it got out of order) of Whitney and Evie spinning away!

Alona and I took the kayak out one day. It was hard to get that thing to go where you wanted it too. We didn't stay in there very long!

One night I was trying to take a picture of the moon and my shutter stayed open too long. I decided to take advantage of it and draw pictures with the moon. This is my interpretation of Adam!

Adam spent most of the week fishing, if you can imagine that! He caught quite a few!

He caught this catfish off the back of the house boat with some leftover sausage!

Here is Alona and Evie getting ready to hit the water!

I was impressed that she liked the water. It was pretty cold.

Here is capt'n Evie and Pops driving the boat.

Erika, Whitney, and Chris came up with an obstacle course off the water slide. I got a perfect 10!

Evie and I needed to cool off!

Here is our home for the week!

Adam hitting the wakes!

Of course...

This little canyon was really fun to jet ski in. It was really pretty back there.

Here are us kids, enjoying the cool mornings!

On the way home we decided to make a few stops. We went to St. George to visit my 95 year old Grandma. I was really happy that her and Evie got to meet.

We stayed with my cousins Daylen & Scarlet and their cute kids. They loved Evie too!

We also stopped in Albion to visit Adam's grandparents. It was really good to see everybody. (If you look close, you can see the gingersnap that Grandma Bell gave Evie!)

It really was a great trip. Evie was a trooper on the 15 hour car ride. I'm not ready to drive that far again, but at least I know she can do it!

Two Years and Counting

Yesterday was our second anniversary! I can't believe it's been two years...and at the same time it seems like we've been together forever (in a good way!). I feel blessed to have a great husband and now a sweet little baby. Life is pretty good right now!

Here we are at one of our receptions.

I didn't have any pictures of us on our first anniversary, but this is pretty close. We rode the Hiawatha Trail. It was awesome!

I didn't take any pictures of us on our anniversary this year either. This was a week or so ago...our first family fishing trip. It was really fun...and I caught the first few fish, I might add!

I've come to realize that we really aren't a romantic couple at all. We actually had a date planned this year. We were going to go out to dinner in Boise and Grandma Warr was going to watch the little dumplin', but Adam got a job (hooray) so we stayed in Moscow. Adam bought me flowers which was sweet of him. We ordered Chinese take-out and rented a documentary on the failing public school system. It's an anniversary to remember!!

It really has been a great year. What a drastic change in our lives from last year to this...but it has been an amazing change. I can't imagine life without Evie. Happy Anniversary, Adam...I sure love you!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Evie is learning new things everyday. She has started making new sounds which sound an awful lot like MAMA!!! I think we have a genius on our hands ;).

Sorry for all the footage at the beginning. She won't talk if we pull out the camera. We have to try to be covert. Sorry also for the nudity! I was changing her and she was talking away. Sometimes the Mama (or even Mom) is more distinct than in this video. Man I love this girl!

On May 21st Evie rolled over for the first time. I have been trying and trying to get her on camera, but once again, she plays dead for the camera. She was a rolling machine tonight though and we got a couple good ones! Apparently it was so hard it induced some fake coughing...

Way to go Evie!!

A "Wicked" New Haircut

For Mother's Day, my dear husband got us tickets to Wicked!!
I was really excited! My parents came to watch Evie and visit for the weekend and we headed out for a night on the town (the first one in a long time!)

These pictures are a little out of order, but here we are after the play. The stage is behind us, but you can't see it...

Here we are on our way out the door. Notice both of our nice new hair cuts...

I've been wanting a change for some time now, but have been too chicken to do anything about it. I have had long hair for most of my life and feel like I need it long to pull it back on those unruly days. I am also terrified of having a Christmas Tree hair cut. Evie has started grabbing and pulling and it was getting really annoying. It was just the motivation I needed. I thought, why not today! I got it cut just in time for our night out. Adam buzzed his head in support!

Here is the back. I am really pleased with it. I just hope I like it when I have to do it on my own!

New Things For Evie

We were at Matt & April's earlier this week and Evie was really jealous of our drinks!

I put the cup up next to her mouth and she went to work on it! She reminded me of a little sucker fish!

(She didn't get any lip injections)

We had spaghetti the other night and I went in the other room to get something. When I came back this is what I saw! Adam thought she needed a pasta mask!

My parents came into town this weekend. Dad was feeding Evie and she fell asleep. I just thought this was a sweet little picture. I love it when she purses her lips out.

We tried rice cereal for the first time this week. She didn't like eating off the spoon, but she really like the cereal. We just poured it into her mouth! Bon Appetit!
