Family Pictures

I was really wanting to take some family pictures in the wheat fields again this year...but I procrastinated. Ahh...oh well! We went to the Administration building instead! I think they turned out real nice! My friend, Sarah, took these for us! Thanks Sarah!

I am so very thankful for my little family. I love them more than anything. I really couldn't be happier!

Halloween 2011

Halloween has come and gone and I'm way behind on my blogging! We had a fun Halloween. On the days leading up to Halloween we were sure to watch two of Adam's favorite Halloween movies: Monster House and Hocus Pocus!

We decided to carve some pumpkins...we were going to carve them when Evie was awake, but thought again and decided to take pictures with her and the pumpkins, put her to bed, then carve the pumpkins in peace (and safety!).

My mom got Evie this cute little shirt!

She's starting to like the camera! She usually just stares blankly at it, but we're starting to get some personality!

Ah...there's my happy girl...with all of her teeth showing!

Here are the pumpkins we carved. We went for the Pac-Man theme. Adam thought that Pac-Man needed a fang!

On Halloween I talked Adam into wearing his Nacho Libre mask to school. He walked all the way like this. My favorite part is that he wore that cape too. My friend Linda made it to go with a Snow White costume that she made for Evie. I guess it's a multi-purpose cape now!

On Halloween night we went to the mall for some nice warm indoor trick or treating! We dressed Evie up as a little spider monkey. I wish I had an easily accessible video to put on here of how she crawls and you'd know why she's a monkey!

Adam thought that she looked more like a dog, and my brother thought she looked more like a rat. Whatever she looked like...she was cute!! (And I'm glad I got to eat all of her candy!)

Evie Update

It's been a while since I've had a post just about Evie! I can't believe how fast time goes. Here are a few pictures of here most recent activities!

Evie loves bath time! I recently bought some toys for the tub. She loves the little octopus. She puts the whole head in her mouth (which I am surprised fits). One of the tentacles often ends up up her nose...she doesn't mind!

She can almost escape the tub now that she can stand up by herself. She's reaching for my leg in this picture.

We were having rice for dinner last Sunday. Evie loved it! She couldn't get enough of that stuff.

Only problem was, it stuck to her like crazy. She looked like she was wearing fuzzy white mittens.

It kept her busy for a long time trying to eat it all off of her hands.

Now that she has discovered that she can stand up by herself, she stands up everywhere. She gets so proud of herself. She was using the refrigerator to stand up today. Everyday its something new!

I apologize for this picture...I just couldn't resist. She has had a runny nose for the last week. Her snot is so sticky! She sneezed the other day and this is what came out! It was a little deflated at this point too! Wow!...is all I could say. I'm just glad I got a picture before it popped!

Evie has a special love for plants. She loves to eat leaves. I had this plant on the floor, but Evie would often tear the leaves off and eat them or knock it over. I gave up and put it up higher on a little bench. It worked for a while, but now that she can pull herself up, the plant is no longer safe. She pulled it right down. I was making dinner when I heard the crash. I came around the corner to see this. Don't worry she ate some dirt before I could stop her!

I love that little sweetie! She's so fun...

Projects

Nap time should be a restful time for me too. Sometimes I try to nap, but usually I have some project that I am working on. Here are a few of my recent projects! I really like making stuff!

Chocolate Bowls!!! Who would have thought. The idea came from Bakerella. They were so fun and easy to make. You just melt chocolate and dip a balloon in it. Let it dry and viola!

I also made chocolate peanut butter pudding from scratch. It turned out pretty tasty too! What a fun dessert!

Adam and I have decided that for Family Home Evening for the next month or so we are going to visit all the new people in his ward to make sure we know who they are. You can't show up empty handed, right? I made blackberry crisp and put it in half pint jars. I think they're adorable!

I just hope they tasted good too!

My last project is these blocks. My friend April gave me some foam that she didn't want to throw away. For months I would look at that foam, but have no idea what to do with it. I finally decided to cut them into blocks. I didn't have anything for Evie to stack.

I decided to put letters on them for future use! Evie really like knocking them over!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a really fun Labor Day weekend. On Friday, two of Adam's sisters, Whitney & Erika, came for a visit. They were heading to the DMB concert at the Gorge. We're glad they came early to stay with us.

On Saturday the Warr kids went and rode the Hiawatha Trail. Evie and I stayed home to hold the fort down. They had a good time with only a few minor incidents!

We spent Sunday morning playing with little Evie before Erika and Whitney headed off. It was so fun seeing them! We love visitors!

On Monday we headed to Elk River to do some huckleberry picking. I think we went out too late in the season. We didn't get nearly as many as we did last year. We had enough for some delicious pancakes though. Evie was loving picking the leaves and I only fell down once!

After we picked for a while, Adam went fishing and Evie and I hung out in the shade. Try as I might to keep her away from the dirt, she found a way to eat it! If only she liked baby food as much.

We saw this old barn or mill or whatever it is. It was really pretty and scenic! We stopped and ate lunch at a little cafe and then headed home to host Family Home Evening with some of the single's ward folks! It was a great weekend!

Maui

A few years back my whole family got Hawaiian Airlines credit cards. We've all be saving our airline miles. We finally all had enough miles for a free trip to Hawaii. My parents had time share in Kauai so we were set! After making plans, we decided that we couldn't go to Hawaii and not go to Maui. My little family and my sister headed over before everyone else and spent a few days in Maui. My cousin and her husband lived on Maui (they just moved to Oahu) and were nice enough to let us stay with them ... even in the midst of their move.

We just boarded the plane in Seattle. Maui, here we come!

We got into Maui about around 1:30 local time. By the time we made it to my cousin's house and got settled in, it was around 4:30...which happens to be 7:30 in Moscow. We couldn't not do anything, so we headed to Twin Falls. Evie was a little tuckered out since it was around her bedtime, but she did great!

It was even more fun that our friend from Houston met us in Maui. She was on the homeward bound part of her around the world in 47 days trip.

We did some cliff jumping and swimming in the fresh water. It was very refreshing after a day of traveling.

The next morning, Adam, Alona, and Katherine went to Haleakela to watch the sun rise. Evie had a rough night and was still sleeping when we needed to leave, so I stayed home with her. They got some great pictures though!

When they got home we ate breakfast and headed out for our first full day of fun! We drove to the Blow Hole first.

We then headed to Honolua Bay to do some snorkeling. Evie was loving it out there.

The walk to the Bay was so pretty...and so is Katherine! The snorkeling here was really good. We didn't get any pictures down by the water. There were a lot of fish and Adam even saw some sea turtles.

We stopped at a grocery store and got stuff for lunch. We headed down to a beach near Lahaina to eat.

We went into Lahaina to look around. We had to get a picture by the huge Banyan tree. I'm glad Evie puts up with us!

Alona carried Evie around for a while. Evie LOVED eating her hair. She loves hair anyway, but when it has that salty sea water in it...umm umm, is it ever good!

The next morning Delisa (my cousin) and Anthony took us over to Makena Landing and let us use their kayak. It was so fun! There was also pretty good snorkeling there. Adam and I saw a sea snake. The water was so clear and blue. I loved it out there.

Evie loved playing in the grass. She's a sweetheart!

Katherine was the resident sandwich maker! She did a great job!

Here is Delisa, Anthony, and Wellington! The were great hosts! Wellington loved Evie. It's just too bad he was so big!!

Evie's favorite part of Hawaii by far was eating sand. She couldn't get enough of it. She's so stinking cute.

Adam and I took the kayaks out for a while.

By the time we got to Kihei, Evie was zonked. This is my favorite beach!

She woke up and rolled in the sand. Life is good!

I love this shot!

There was some good body surfing here. I like this shot of Adam's leg!

After a morning full of swimming we heading to the Iao Valley. I love this place. It is so pretty. The Iao Needle is behind us.

We thought we'd try one more beach before heading home. This is Baldwin Beach. This is the beach we went to most growing up because it was closest to where we lived. It was so windy that day that we didn't stay.

We went into Paia instead and got gelato!

We took the long way home and stopped by our old home...the Hailimaile plantation. The Maui Pineapple Company is no more. Someone bought these old dorms and they are turning them into a wellness center. It looked way better than when we used to live there!

This was the only pineapple field that we saw. It made me kinda sad that there wasn't more. They have planted sugarcane in most of the fields. I'm glad there is at least one left. I love that Maui pineapple!

Katherine left the next morning and we headed to Hana. It is such a pretty drive. We stopped and got lunch and Bubba's BBQ. It was delicious. We then headed to Hamoa beach. I had never been here, but I loved it. It might be my new favorite beach. It had black sand...which Evie loved!

I love this sandy baby!

There was great body surfing here. The waves were pretty big. This was Adam's favorite spot.

This is a view of the beach from the road. Someone told us that it was voted the 2nd most beautiful beach in the world. I won't argue with that!

We went to Seven Sacred Pools next. We didn't swim this time, but hiked up to the water fall. It was a great hike. We passed this Banyan tree.

My favorite part was this bamboo forest. It was so cool!

Here we are inside. The bamboo was so thick that it was pretty dark in there. I loved it!

Here is a shot of the ocean from the pools. It is a beautiful place.

The circle of life!

I love Maui. What a great few days there. It was so whirlwind trip, but Evie did great! I feel so blessed. Off to Kauai! (For more details and pictures you can check out my sisters blog!)
