THE dress

I GOT A DRESS!
Hooray! I got the dress that I loved (dress #4 if you remember from my earlier post). I've decided to only post this one shot...call it superstition if you will. Thanks for all of your comments and advice. I can't wait to show everyone pictures of the dress in all its glory! 104 more days!

Skype

Skype has become my new favorite thing. I've used it for a long time, but it has become one of mine and Adam's nightly rituals. It's as close to the real thing as we can get right now!

Even via internet, Adam finds it hard to pose nicely for a picture. It wouldn't be Adam if there weren't a few of these!

I like this shot. What a pleasant expression!

I was trying to make it look like I was kissing his cheek, but we were a little off. I suppose secrets are as good as kisses...

Birthday Party

I am finally getting around to posting about my little birthday party last weekend. I was so good to have my family here...minus my two Adam's.

We started out with dinner at Carino's...delicious!

Dad was a little out numbered, but he's used to it.

I know...here I am all by myself, looking happy, but a little awkward!

After dinner we came back to the house and had cake. It was wonderful. Alona made it and it even had peanut butter inside!

A lot of air can fit in those cheeks!

Kirsten had the camera and turned into the super photographer. This is just one of the many "artistic" shots she got with me and the cake. I'll spare you the rest!

Abraham and Stacia graced us with their presence...and presents!

I just had to add this. Aren't they the cutest?

After cake and mormon bridge we headed up stairs for a ping pong tournament. We got worn out playing "Around the World", so Dad challenged Kirsten to match. This shot shows how he played the whole game...on the ground.

Kirsten put up a good fight, but in the end was defeated. It was a great game to watch. There's never a dull moment with Kirsten, especially when ping pong and whistling are involved!

Thanks for a great birthday!

Wedding Dress Shopping

This is an exciting day. My FIRST post on my FIRST blog! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Alona for this amazing blog. It is just how I would have done it.
My parents came into town for my birthday. We had a lot of fun. Perhaps I'll post pictures of the party soon. I thought I would keep with the new blog theme and post wedding stuff. Alona, Mom, and Jen came with me to find a wedding dress on Saturday. We found some good options. I haven't decided yet, and thought that you could help me! They didn't have the dress in stock that I love (I've just seen pictures), but they are going to order it, so I'm not making a final decision until then. Here are the options:

Dress 1
It was a little too big, but I like how the waistline sits low on my hips.

It was very simple, but I really liked it!

Dress 2
This one kind of surprised me. I didn't like it on the hanger, but it turned out really nice. I like the ribbon on the waist and on the bottom hem. It is flowery lace, which isn't my favorite, but it wasn't too bad!

Nice detail in the back!

Shot of the whole back. It has a fun train!

Dress 3
I really like the simplicity of this dress.

Here is a closer view. (To be honest, Alona just got a little camera crazy. I've had to start hiding my new camera from her!)

The back view...And yet...another back view.

Dress 4
Click here for the link. This dress has my name written all over it. I'll be sad if it doesn't look good on me!

I want your opinions (as long as they're nice!) Don't forget to check out the link of my favorite dress!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Susannah! I created this blog for you, more for selfish reasons than just a spirit of giving. Since you'll be leaving me soon, I needed a way to keep updated on your life. I'm sure your many friends will thank me as well. Thanks to Kristal for designing the header for me. . . you, I guess! :)
I thought I'd do a little birthday tribute to you here as the first post on your blog. First of all, you're my best friend and pretty much favorite person EVER! I remember praying for a little sister. I love this picture of us on the Haliimaile plantation on Maui.
Continuing with the Hawaii theme - this one is my favorite picture of the two of us. I love that you can see your little belly button. I've always been happy to be your sister, even in those awkward years of fighting and annoying each other.
Even though you copied me . . . A LOT, there are many things I need to copy from you: your humility and ability to forgive quickly, your eagerness to serve others, your outgoing personality, to name a few. You are so dedicated and GOOD! You are a fantastic example to me. Maybe someday I'll even be able to copy you getting married!:)
Thanks for being the person you are. I'm excited to have you here for a few more months before Adam steals you away!
I love you!
Alona
PS - Adam - I'm really excited to have you in the family! Yahoo!
