Wedding Dress Shopping

This is an exciting day. My FIRST post on my FIRST blog! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Alona for this amazing blog. It is just how I would have done it.
My parents came into town for my birthday. We had a lot of fun. Perhaps I'll post pictures of the party soon. I thought I would keep with the new blog theme and post wedding stuff. Alona, Mom, and Jen came with me to find a wedding dress on Saturday. We found some good options. I haven't decided yet, and thought that you could help me! They didn't have the dress in stock that I love (I've just seen pictures), but they are going to order it, so I'm not making a final decision until then. Here are the options:

Dress 1
It was a little too big, but I like how the waistline sits low on my hips.

It was very simple, but I really liked it!

Dress 2
This one kind of surprised me. I didn't like it on the hanger, but it turned out really nice. I like the ribbon on the waist and on the bottom hem. It is flowery lace, which isn't my favorite, but it wasn't too bad!

Nice detail in the back!

Shot of the whole back. It has a fun train!

Dress 3
I really like the simplicity of this dress.

Here is a closer view. (To be honest, Alona just got a little camera crazy. I've had to start hiding my new camera from her!)

The back view...And yet...another back view.

Dress 4
Click here for the link. This dress has my name written all over it. I'll be sad if it doesn't look good on me!

I want your opinions (as long as they're nice!) Don't forget to check out the link of my favorite dress!

Ok, I agree 100% that the one that has your name all over it is the most adorable dress ever. Here's some more of my much valued opionion (I'm sure)...don't go with the bunched up skirt one...it's like my sisters having the puffy puffy big ole sleeves on theirs in the 80's...total trend, and way over done. LOVE the simple one with the ribbons and lace...classic, and of coarse I'm a fan of simple...my dress was th emost simple ever, so luckily I was able to wear it to jamaica 8 years later and it wasn't outta style. BAM! there you have it from a pro...ok, not a pro, only been married once, but done lots of wedding dress shopping with sisters, neices and friends. Just trust me, if your fav dress looks good on you (which it totally will) DO IT! The Jacket is timeless and the rest is simple enough that it'll never look silly...so your daughters will want to wear it. Wow, guess I could go on forever about this. But here it is
#1 The dress you love
#2 Simplest
#3 Ribbons
#4, don't even get the bunched up skirt one...trust me

The last one (the link) is definitely my favorite...I can't wait to see you in it!

Next favorite is the first one.

Good luck!

Yay for dress shopping! How fun!

So here are my thoughts...I typically don't like the style of number 3 but it looks great on you! I think I like it because it's not as poofy of a bottom as that style typically is. I loved it and it was my favorite on you.

Number 4 is good too. I can see why you like it! :) Not sure about the flair on the front of it, but the jacket part and back are beautiful! When are you going to try that one? I'm excited to see new pictures. Good luck! :)

Well, pretty much you are going to look amazing in whatever you wear!

I definitely love the dress with the mock jacket. It is going to look fantastic. Of the other three, I like the shape of the lacey one the best. I am not a super lacey person either, but that shape looked awesome on you. I can't wait to see the fourth!

You looked great in them all, of course this is your mother speaking. Dad said the dress doesn't make the person pretty, the person makes the dress pretty, so he thought they all looked good. I definitely liked the poofy skirt one better in person than in the pictures.

Yay! I'm so glad you have a blog! What a wonderful sister you have. . . And thanks for taking us all dress shopping with you! And as for picking the perfect one - pick the one that makes you feel the beautifulest! It's the feeling you'll remember forever.

Well... my favorite is the linked dress as well.. it is more your style than any of the others and I think more unique. Of the three with pictures I think the second one looked the best on you. Then next would be the first one I think.. probably because I'm not a huge fan of the icing style skirts.. but it is true that they look better in person than in pictures.. so maybe I don't have the best grasp. But like Kim, I must say that you will be stunning in anything.. HOT MOMMA!!

Wow! They are all pretty! I have to say I love how you look in the 2nd dress. I have never really been a huge fan of lots of lace but I think it looks amazing on you! It is simple with lace! It fits your figure perfectly! I can't say about the one you have not tried on yet. It is very cute just have to see it on you! Of course pick the one you feel prettiest in and with these choices how could you go wrong. Fun stuff!!!

They're all beautiful but I think any dress you put on will be beautiful. I wish I had that many options when I was looking. :)

I'm terrible about making decisions like this so this probably isn't helpful :)

Susannah,
Well I vote for the classic #2 , It is very simple but has an elegance to it that makes you look gorgeous! And very flattering to your figure. Like a "princess~ Grace Kelly" ( you might have to ask your mom who that was) I won't vote for the one you haven't tried on, because you think it looks good in the book doesn't mean it will look that way on you. Both Jessica & Kourtney tried on lots of dresses they thought they wanted and then picked something else. so make sure you try it on b-4 you choose. What an exciting time for you and your family! Good luck!love ya:)Terri
